Current Monarch : King Trog’donah Roblocc
Current Voice : Sir Bowyn, The White Dragon of Anglia
The Fen King has taken up rule over a prosperous but divided realm; Anglia is a rich and bountiful land where farming and the natural cycle are incredibly important, a land that has more than enough to provide for all of its people. Anglia is known for its fens and swamplands, which are the home of one of Albion’s largest collected cultures, the Fen-Folk. Historically, there has been a marked divide between the staunchly conservative mainland courts and the tribal fenlands of the Fe-Folk, which has been exacerbated by harsh treatment and suspicion of the fenland populace despite their loyalty to the King during the Fae Wars. With this divide and marked resentment of the Fen-Folk appearing to grow worse, the former King's choice of successor is at once both divisive and progressive. An act intended to help heal this divide and allow both cultures to move forward together, yet there are many who view the new King as an outrage, a slap in the face to tradition, and as such Anglia is in the midst of a migration of its less open-minded folk to other, more mainstream cultured realms (Norholt, with its reputation for monster hunters, is a popular if perhaps misunderstood choice for these migrants).
The Fen-Folk of Anglia are split into tribes, the three most significant being The Temsu, The Quassar and the Hachin, though there are numerous other, smaller tribes and families across the Fens. The Fen-Folk allied themselves with the former King during the Fae Wars, sending many of their warriors, shamans and more to battle in his name, yet despite this loyalty there is still a great deal of xenophobia directed towards them and amongst many of these brave folk there are rumblings of discontent and outright hostility towards those who question the Fen King’s fitness to rule the realm.
Because of its natural resources and geographical position, trade is the lifeblood of Anglia. It sells much of its produce across Albion, with one of its chief exports being peat for fuel. As with Cornwall, outsiders often view Anglia as rather staid and set in its ways, with a strong, sometimes overly rose-tinted adherence to Albion’s feudal traditions, with power that has been passed between the same few families for generations.
Recently, Anglia has been beset by an invasive plant species, dubbed Corporealis Parasiticus but more commonly know as 'Healbane' for it's propensity to feed on the Agaric plant (a component of many healing potions and balms). This inter-planar invader threatens to wipe out Albion's native Agaric population, and concern is high amongst researchers.
